Poland and Czechia - the final run home

We are currently heading north to hopefully catch a ferry from Dunkirk to Dover on Tuesday afternoon. Because it is at least a 10 hour drive from Dover to home we'll be staying the night near Dover, and driving up on Saturday.

First stop was at the city of Metz, which while pretty enough failed to grab the imagination - maybe we are just citied out. Prices there were astronomical in the city centre bars and restaurants.

Epernay is in the centre of champagne country, and all the well known names have impressive HQ's there. It's not a particularly big town, but it too thinks that it can charge extortionate prices. France is definitely becoming expensive in other ways as well.

Today we are in a very rural campsite about two hours drive from Dunkirk. There is nothing here, which is just as well as the heavens have opened, and will continue for the rest of the evening. This is the first time that that this has happened on the whole trip - it has rained at night and whilst driving, but not inconvenienced us.

It has been a great trip, and we have seen many excellent sights. The driving has generally been very good, and the people pleasant.
